Winning a competitive brief for a second time with Southport College CLA designed a contemporary refurbishment scheme for the 1930’s Art & Design wing adapting some of the buildings existing features to open up and invigorate the internal teaching spaces and studios. A new lift and staircase allowed the upper attic space formerly used for storage to be converted into a new cad suite for over 40 students. CLA’s design proposal included a gallery space which was outside of the clients brief but a well received benefit to the scheme.
